Flotilla Commander
Jeff Blomgren |
14-8 continues to set benchmarks. The National
Auxiliary magazine, Navigator, recognized the hard work of one
of our members by publishing information about the safety video
produced by Rusty Gardner. We are fortunate to have Rusty
on board. In fact we are fortunate to have the membership
we have with all the skills and abilities that make a flotilla
successful. With the addition of Charles Trippe as Vice Flotilla
Commander, we have taken one more step to becoming a more
efficient and effective unit. |
Charles brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the
position of VFC and we are glad to have him aboard.
.
Others worthy of mention is the work of John
Russette as PV and PA and his plan for education and development
of the PV training and implementation program,Sarah Tamargo for her
willingness to tackle the newsletter, Merrill Varn for her work
on getting a Clean Marina program information session
coordinated, Charles Smith for his excellent work in recruiting
new members with four new members being sworn in already in
2009, and Paul Burns for his excellent work on the website.
.
As we take advantage of the skills and talents of our volunteers
we have to remember to keep growing and learning as individuals.
A good example is the APC. I am encouraging every member
who has not taken and passed the APC to do so in 2009. In
addition, I would like to challenge you all to take the ISC 100
and 700 I 2009 and become qualified to become an elected officer
in the future. We exist as volunteers to make the boating
world a better and safer place and to use the interests, skills
and abilities to make ourselves the best at what we do.
