The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is the uniformed, all-volunteer component of the United States Coast Guard. Since 1969, the members of Flotilla 14-8, based at the Florida Tackle & Gun Club on San Jose Blvd, have conducted safety patrols on local waterways, assisted in Search and Rescue, taught boating safety classes, conducted free vessel safety checks, provided boating safety literature to dealers, as well as many other activities related to recreational boating safety.
